Heff and Nana Sarah have been together for over 3 years now, they met at Mr. Lynch, Heff asked Sarah out but said no the next day! 

Sarah finally gave in after 6 weeks of persistence from Heff.

The High Level Bridge was opened 161 years ago for the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway, it originally carried 3 tracks on the upper deck with a roadway on a lower level. The bridge has six spans of cast iron arches tied with wrought iron strings supporting the railway 120ft above the river Tyne.

Modern trains and road traffic weigh many times more than when the bridge was opened yet this construction is almost entirely in its original condition. The only change is that the tracks have been reduced to two. The bridge was built close to the line of the Roman bridge and within sight of the Central Station and Stephenson’s Locomotive Works. The Bridge is Listed Grade One and there is some irony in the fact that the building of the railway demolished much of the ancient Castle of Newcastle an obliterated a 12th Century Castle at Berwick Station. Before the opening of the Royal Border Bridge by Queen Victoria, Robert Stephenson was offered and refused a knighthood; this may have been because of his respect for his father, George Stephenson.

I live near the Wild Fowl Park in Washington so it’s great to walk along the river as the masses of birds seem to spill into the surrounding air.

I spent some time at the Red Balloon Ball at The Gosforth Marriott last night and met some great people.

Everyone looked like they had a wonderful night, all in aid of The British Lung Foundation.

I covered this event for Changemakers and had a great time getting some insight into the charity. They do fantastic work with young people to inspire and connect them with organizations. Have a look at their website for more information

Recent event at The Baltic, the exhibition is one of the greatest as always and definitely worth a look.

The day after the preview night, there was an Artist Talk with Anthony D’Offay, which was a pleasure to cover so I stayed for the duration!

I was fortunate to travel to Berlin and stay with family in October 2008. It’s an amazingly vast place, with enormous museums, cathedrals and malls. The architecture was my main focus on my trip and due the amount of money the government spend on rebuilding Germany post World War’s you can see that they really want to make a statement, in the sense that they honour the past.
